The bar charts above show benefits reported by parents who attended Incredible Years courses during 2012-2013 which were facilitated or co-facilitated by the Parenting Skills Coach.
The results shown above are the summary results of individual parents’ completing a questionnaire known as “TOPSE” (an abbreviation of the not very catchy “TOol for measuring Parenting Self Efficacy”!). The questionnaire – which was developed by the University of Hertfordshire – asks parents whether they Completely Agree with a statement (in which case they score it 10) or Completely Disagree with a statement (in which case they score it 1). All other scores between 1 and 10 can also be given, indicating the extent to which a parent agrees or disagrees with the relevant statement about various aspects of their parenting.

(Note that, while many parents, on completing the course, did Completely Agree with relevant statements above, for a score of 100% to appear against any of the statements, ALL of the parents completing the questionnaire would have to Completely Agree with the relevant statement and score 10 against it.
